        Subtitling - Allows to listen to original/foreign dialogue, provides complete context for foreign speakers, more accessible (especially for hard-of-hearing audience), arguably preserves more authenticity. However, can impact immersion as less attention on the images and character's emotions in movie, and therefore possibly less comprehension of plot + details, especially in a fast-paced scene; text expansion could hinder viewing of a scene; don't always align with shot duration; censorship (example, asterisks) can be distracting.
        
        Solutions to subtitling - always complete after a scene, so vital context is included without unnecessary elaboration, and no staggering.
        
        Dubbing - no abbreviation, maintains engagement, more beneficial to those who learn auditorily and to those who aren't as efficient at reading; also provide authenticity; more useful in overcoming issues of cultural sensitivity and censorship via bleeping or word replacement; more comprehensive to audience. However, possible difference in how phrases are delivered, lower comprehension from never-perfect lip synchronization, usually derives from dialogue to match lip synchronisation so could miss vital parts of dialogue; more expensive that subtitles, so less accessible; extremely time-consuming, so more delayed release times than subtitles; one artist voice-overing multiple characters can be distracting, as are poor voice actors.
