pratical application-situational- there was a real life application of the deprivation model during the early 1990s where 2 units were set up for violent criminals, the research used the idea that violence occurs in hot, nosy and overcrowed environments, so he controlled there 3 factors, by creating units that were less clausraphobic by having views of outside, the temperature was much cooler and the nosy prison environment was reduced and a local radio station played over the noise despite this model completely erradicating violent acts against staff and inmates, the model felt a lot of political pressure from attidues like these are our worst criminals we cant possabilly let them have such a nice environment, this meant that the model could never be properly implicated.
