countries from the third world wanted complete independence

this was difficult because of post colonial economies structural issues

all their presidential regimes turned into dictatorships

creating nations similar to europe proved diffcult

The Bandung Conference and the Non-Aligned movement

Nehru organized a conference to integrate the Chinesse comunism into a political project

including capitalist and soviet model

Bandung Conference's key goals were to condemn colonialism

Non-Aligned Movement (Main countries: India, Yugoslaia, Egypt)

Third World and Cold War

The US responded to the movement by strengthening the aliance

SEATO: American movement used to contain comunist influence in southeast Asia

The Beghdad created the METO: to limit the soviet influence in the middle east
