Simple machines and levers - Coggle Diagram
Simple machines and levers
Simple machines
uses power to apply a force and control motion
created to aid humans with automated work basically make our live easier
performs some kind of task or work
Examples of simple machines: Screw, wheel, levers, ramps and wedge
Levers
3 different classes
1st class
Fulcrum between load and effort
2nd class
load between fulcrum and effort
3rd class
effort between fulcrum and load
Mechanical advantages
Through the uses of simple machines and levers, humans were able to build objects that are seemingly impossible to build without the use of modern day technology
Example: The egyptians used a series of simple machines(wheel, axle, pulley, wedge and inclined plane) to build the great pyramids
Principle of moment
Equilibrium is when a body's total clockwise moment= total anti clockwies moment
Formula: moment=F x perpendicular distance of the force applied
