Fear, Mr Jerome is Afraid - Coggle Diagram

- - - - At the end of this chapter, we are told that the woman in black was staring at Arhur from the nursery's window. This creates a feeling of fear to Arthur and the reader as the woman in black is a real fear inducing figure which paired up with the situation from before creates this nervous and fearful situation. Which ends up working as a cliffhanger.
    - - "I felt a second of pure despair, alone in the middle of the wide marsh, under the fast-moving, stormy sky, with only water all around me and that dreadful house the only solid thing for miles "
        
        This clearly helps us identify the fear that Arthur felt while he tried to save Spider from sinking and drowning in the marsh. That isolation and feeling of despair while trying to save Spider makes Arthur and ourselves feel fear for him. .
