Neural Transmission
An electrochemical signal is sent from the pre-synaptic neuron to the post-synaptic neuron through a process called synaptic transmission
The neurotransmitters are held in vesicles. When the vesicles become excited by the action potential it causes the vesicles to fuse with the pre-synaptic membrane
