It started to divide their relations with the State, this process was exacerbated because of anti-clerical policies so Catholics were urged not to vote
Middle and upper classes domination
Only they elite were able to vote
The government was only conformed by them and worried only about their needs
Created unrest in the lower class -> working class movements -> creating a new party = PSI
Most politicians voted for closing down the PSI
4 political parties that referred to 4 different groups
An outlook for war with the Futurist Movement, expansionism
Nationalists, liberalists wanted "their" lands back from Austria, PSI and the Catholic Party opposed -> little to gain against a fellow catholic state
The War against Austria happened which led to huge losses and it made Italy more politically divided -> resenting the Liberal Government
Others resented the PSI's anti war stance
Because of war there were more workers needed and PSI, they were militant after the war
Economic problems, leads to social to political
Divisions because of lack of unity
In the South people were living in poverty, while up north they were getting industrialized
The Italy-Turkish war led to further economical issues -> bc of the Nationalists
This caused discomfort in the PSI and they denied to participate
