I need to make the bug different, theres no point in recreating what's already there as that is not the task
Fungus bug
Would need to use the particle system in houdini which I have only used once so I feel like it would be easy and would be a good learning experience
The inside of the bug would be an opaque cream/white however it would also be cool if i could add particle effects which makes it look like spores coming from the bug
water bug
would need a fluid sim for the hit effect, I know how to do fluid sims so this would be easy for me to do
The inside of the bug would probably be a transparent ish blue which would look good and would be more simple than the others
plant bug
Because the particles would be a strange shape and would not behave typically like spheres do the I would have to make my own particle which I don't know how to do so I don't think that this effect would be very time effective for me considering I only have 1 day
The inside of the bug could look like the inside of a leaf with the cells of it being not dense in some areas and ery dense in others. This would require some material making which might also not be time effective. Or I could just make it a semi-transparent green however this might look too similar to what already exists in the game
No theme - use a cube or a preset geometry and don't include any form of specific theme as I'm only doing VFX
Make it in a large bug style so when the projectile hits the geometry it breaks some of it off and leave flesh looking thing beneath

Add a theme - even if I add a theme it's still going to end up with the same sort of project so I need to decide what style of effect I want to do and what could realistically be incorporated into the game.
