CLASIFICATION
COGNITIVE
- Classifying: Putting together similar things. Ex: Classifying clothes: winter or summer.
- Predicting: Guessing what the student is about to learn. Ex: Guessing the topic of the class by listening a story told by the teacher as introduction.
- Inducing: Looking for patterns. Ex: Guessing a grammar rule by seeing some examples.
- Taking notes: Writing down relevant information in own words. Ex: The teacher asks to write down what the class understood of looking at an example given.
- Concept Mapping: Use the tool of concept maps to find the main ideas.
- Inferencing: Using previous knowledge to learn something new.
- Discriminating: Understanding which one is the main idea, and distinguishing the supporting ideas.

- Cooperating: Share ideas between students. Ex: Working in teams.
- Role - Playing: Pretend to be someone else in order to practice the language. Ex: Interviews

- Conversational Patterns: Using expressions to start conversations. Ex: Begin the conversation with a letter of the alphabet.
- Practicing: Exercises to improve knowledge. Ex: Writing a short essay containing words from the vocabulary.
- Using context: Use context to guess the meaning of words, phrases or concepts. Ex: Vocabulary in readings.
- Summarizing: Picking the main ideas to make a summary of the topic.
- Selective Listening: Listening for key information without understanding every word. Ex: listening to a song and picking the names of the characters mentioned.
