Hook
Several students may be learning at a school where fees shall be paid. A pen and paper is much more accessible than a computer adding on extra charges to yearly bills.
Research shows that 92% of students work better and retain more information when working on paper rather than computers.
Technology has immensely reduced the attention span of students world wide making all learning somewhat more difficult depending on the individual.
History & Background
Students have been working on a pen and paper since children first began attending classes which rewinds all the way back to 2010 BC.
Teachers still provide worksheets and encourage note taking on paper to this day however, computers are used much more often.
When printing first became an available option in 1968 worksheets were extremely common in schools who could afford the prices.
Specialized info
Computers distract students and fill their minds with unnecessary thoughts that take away from the main point of learning. Students should be able to learn with a clear/open mind free from distractions.
Paper is being ignored by schools around the world and technology is practically taking over; technology plays in with a handful of disadvantages causing students to be distracted, unsettled, and unable to think and learn properly.
Thesis
Paper should be brought back as an everyday option in schools so students can regain their ability to retain information and to learn with an open mind.
Argument #1 Computers cause students to act differently over time.
Students may eventually act upset, hurt, confused. Online bullying can happen anywhere at any time on the wrong platforms.
Online assignments can get very confusing and complicated real fast causing a student to feel stressed and uncertain of their work.
Students may get sidetracked and go onto different sites where harmful things may be seen causing distress, unfocused attention etc...
Argument #2 Assignments on paper don't come with distractions and certainly do not inspire cheating or unsafe info.
Paper is considered more safe and school free while Information on technology can be unlimited for example a student would be triggered to act upon cheating. Students may also be exposed to leaked photos and inappropriate information.
Cheating is not very common on paper however on computers, students have full access to Google search, AI, and copy and pasting which can impact their grade for the good or the bad.
Distractions take up a big part of computers as students can easily jump on platforms such as youtube and games and even messages/chats in which a student can very easily get distracted from their school work.
Argument #3 Working on paper come with several benefits to a students learning mind.
Students can practice their Handwriting on paper rather than typing.
More information will be retained within the students mind while reading and writing on paper rather than on screens.
Mental health can also be improved by working on sheets with no form of accessing unhealthy sites.
