Should Animals be used for Scientific Tests?
Hook
"Its takes absolutely nothing away from a human to be kind to an animal so we might as well do it"-Joaquin Phoenix
Over 100 million animals are burned, crippled, poisoned, and abused in US labs every year.
History and Backround
Using Animals for tests has now become normalised as we are using animals unnecessarily to run tests
This whole idea started in Ancient Greece
The first known use of animals in scientific experimentation date from 500 B. C. in the ancient Greece
Specialized Information
The top 5 countries for the most animal testing is, China, Japan, United States, Canada and Australia.
Most tests being used on animals are tests that can be tested on non-living things which would result in less harm, less killing and more animals
Thesis
We should limit the amount of tests being ran on animals because they are animals, they cant talk or give consent to the tests being ran.
Any human benefits through animal research are outweighed by the suffering of those animals.-Missouri University
Argument #1-We shouldn't harm Animals because there are so many benefits of Animals on Earth.
Animals provide us with clothing, food, medicine, and also help with many more economic needs of human beings
Without animals our ecosystems would be messed up along with many of our ways of life and doing things.
Many animals are essential to maintaining Earth's ecosystem
Argument #3-Humans can give consent
Humans can communicate, talk and express themselves
Some of the tests that are getting ran on animals are tests that can be ran on humans
When humans give consent to getting tests ran on them they know the risks and what could happen
Argument #2-Animals can't give consent
When animals get used for scientific tests they don't know what could happen to themselves and don't know the risks
Animals are a thing that can't talk, communicate or express themselves
Animals aren’t volunteering for these tests
