Alice Coleman
Studied 4099 blocks of flats in 2 London boroughs and identified areas that could be improved within them to reduce the amount of crimes committed
She suggested that no more blocks of flats be built in or around London to reduce the amount of crimes committed
She also suggested that secluded areas, such as overhead walkways and separate stairs and tower blocks should be reduced

Behavioural tactics
ASBOs
Gotten rid of in 2014 after they were proved not to work because of the age group they were aimed at
An ASBO could be imposed for up to 2 years, but rarely led to more serious punishments if they were followed
An ASBO is an anti-social behaviour order, which were normally given to teenagers and young adults throughout the 1990s and the early 2000s, as they didn't give the recipient a criminal record, allowing them to live a normal life and still be able to get a job
ABSOs could often be seen as a badge of honour for people who had received one, as they were mainly just a caution
CBOs
CBOs replaced ASBOs when they were gotten rid of in 2014 and, unlike the ASBOs they could lead to more serious punishments and even criminal records if their conditions weren't followed
CBOs also weren't only focused on teenagers and young adults leading to a higher number of them being given out for minor crimes
Institutional tactics
Token economies
A system where they reward prisoners for actively doing good behaviour, rather than just no misbehaving
