Temperatures data & analysis unit 4C

State Data: New York

2023 monthly data + 1991-2020 mean monthly data = prediction

equations

how we can prove our data is accurate

2023 data equation

Principle Axis = 60.1 (average between min + max)

amp= 19 average between line and min/line and max

Period = 1 (one period/cycle, so 12 months)

Min: 41.1

Max: 79.1

Equation for previous average temperatures in 2023: y=19+sin+60.1

Prediction Equation

Principle Axis: 58.35 (min/max average)

Amp: 19.95 (average between the line and the min/max)

Period: 1 (shows one cycle, 12 months)

Min: 38.4

Max: 78.3

Equation for prediction 2024 graph: y= 19.95+sin+58.35

Using average temperature data from 2023 and the 29 year temperature mean from 1991-2020, we were able to average the temperatures recorded each month and use them as a prediction for the average temperature for each month of 2024.
Using the existing data from the month already passed in this year(Jan-Apr) we are able to accurately check our predictions, which do in fact align with the 2024 Jan-Apr data
