WHO
The environment is the congregation of all the physical, chemical and biological factors external to a person, and all related behaviours, but excluding those natural environments that cannot reasonably be modified. (WHO, 2016)
Environmental health
Environmental health addresses all the physical, chemical, and biological factors external to a person, and all the related factors impacting behaviors. This definition excludes behavior unrelated to environment, behavior related to the social and cultural environment, as well as genetics

NEMA definition
"Environmental justice must be pursued so that adverse environmental impacts shall not be distributed in such a manner as to unfairly discriminate against any person, particularly vulnerable and disadvantaged persons; Equitable access to environmental resources, benefits and services to meet basic human needs and ensure human well-being"
Provision of adequate protection from environmental toxicants for all people, regardless of age, ethnicity, gender, health status, social class or race
Equitable protection from the burdens of environmental hazards inclding environmental exposures and any associated disease risks
Response to social transformation – changing the conditions of vulnerability to lead to environmental injustice – agency of those affected
