DESIGN THINKING
Superimpose running dimensioning
simplifies parallel dimension in order to reduce space
Chain dimensioning
should only be used if function of object would not get affected by accumulation of tolerance
Parallel dimensioning
consist of several dimension originating from common reference surface
Combine dimensioning
use both chain and parallel dimensioning
Dimensioning small feature
placing arrow head between extension line may make dimension very difficult to read. can be replace outside extension lines
Dimensioning multiple feature
to dimension multiple same dimension, use N x Dimension
Dimensioning of radius (R)
show radius dimension with the centre of radius locate on the drawing
Dimensioning of circle, ark, hole
circle, by diameter/ arc, by dimension/ hole, by centrelines
Dimensioning of circle
marked with a curved dimension line and has degree symbol
Bilateral tolerance
- allowed to vary 2 direction from specified dimensions.
Unilateral tolerance
- allowed to vary in 1 direction
Limit tolerance
- the upper and lower limits of dimension are specified
