Tutankhamen

In his coffin, he was buried with a golden beetle. Egyptians believed that this would help Pharos get to the afterlife
Ambition
On the walls of his tomb, Tutankhamen was portrayed riding a chariot - as he wanted to be presented as a warrior king
He also wanted to restore traditional Egyptian Religion and Art
The boy King at 16 years old, suffered from malaria and tried to avoid public eye as he didn't want his subjects to see him as weak.
Economy and Infrastructure
Due to his short reign, Tutankhamen was not able to build anything or bring any money into the country and yet remain one the most mysterious and well remembered Pharos in modern times
Tutmose III
Started his reign under the thumb of his step mother - Haptshepsut
He had his own zoo and botanical garden
When his body was found it was missing the bottom half of his body/legs
Some of the artefacts from his reign were found in South Africa
He ruled from 1479BC - 1425BC
He became Pharo at the age of two as his father had died young

His temple, while not larger than his stepmother's, it was 11 feet higher

He wanted to upstage his step mother and make sure his subject thought he was more powerful, even though he started his reign under the thumb of his step mother - Haptshepsut

In modern time she is a popular Pharo
She married two of her brothers to maintain her reign
Cleopatra was the last ruler of the Ptolemaic Dynasty
She was not Egyptian but predominantly Greek
Reigned from 51BC - 30BC
Ambition
She wanted to build an alliance with the Romans so that she could enhance her power
She wanted her subjects to see her as a reincarnation of the goddess Isis - by portraying her self on temples of Isis she wanted to keep the full support and love of her people
She was highly intelligent and well educated - this was rare for women during that time
She used her image (ie being a woman) as a political tool
Trade
She was a strategic ruler and understood the importance of trade and economy
She used her alliance with the Roman empire to help build trade in the country

With the help of the Roman navy, she built Alexandria's royal quarter
Haptshepsut
She was the daughter of a king
Came to power as a regent for her stepson

Buried in the valley of the Kings along with other great rulers

She often wore male regalia and a false beard so that people would take her seriously, and treat her the same as her male couterparts

His mummy is still mising

He was names after the sun God Khnum

He harvested crops to sell at the local markets

Khufu affirmed his status as Egypt's central authority, starting with controlling his kingdom's food supply
To his subject, Khufu was a cruel and wicked leader - but he wanted to be presented as powerful
