The one-word ranking system is not descriptive enough, possibly causing suffering schools to go out of business.

Increased parental choice - parents can find schools that better suit their and their child's lives, parents can chose schools specialist for their child's interests.

Steven Ball and Geoff Whitty - marketisation and league tables mean that good schools can "cream-skim" students.
Good schools can chose out of all applicants, based on how good they will make them look.
Pierre Bourdieu - marketisation favours people with higher economic capital, parents will have more money to move to richer areas around the good schools or travel there.
