Causes of World War I (M.A.I.N.)
Alliances (A)
Evidence 2: Protection
Example (Long-term): Because alliances makes a strong group of people it provides protection of the members who are weaker which make them wanted to join in an alliance but if there are more and more bigger alliances it could make conflicts bigger and bigger.
Evidence 1: Bonding
Example (Long-term): Alliances are formed for making sure that each country in an alliance group had each other backs when something happens (such as wars). Having a team corporations makes the members stronger and less of a weak target.
Militarism (M)
Evidence 2: Improvement of weapons
Example (Long-term): The European countries went to improve their weapons, because everyone knew the one having the strongest armies will be the biggest threat to themselves, so they race to create the stronger one. With more rapid military technology developments, the countries are aware there will be war.
Evidence 3: Jealousies and fear
Example (Long-term): The Imperial competitions had made the European countries more jealous and afraid of each other. To prevent any attacks from other European countries or attacking other countries. European countries started to advance their military systems for keeping better over their properties.
Evidence 1: Military competition
Example (Long-term): There are a few military competitions between European countries such as the British and German navvy competition. The main reason for these competitions are for showing other countries military strength and having comparisons for better improvements.

Evidence 2: Hatred
Example (Long-term): However, there are still Serbians living in Austria-Hungary along with the other Balkan country people and they are not treated equality as Austrian-Hungarian. Making them have hatred and more stronger ambitions about being free form the Austria-Hungary Empire's rule.
Evidence 3: Independence
Example: The Assassination of Austria-Hungary Archduke Franz Ferdinand
(Short-term cause)
On of the main reason that the The Black Hand organization went to assassinated Austria-Hungary Archduke Franz Ferdinand is because the members are all Serbians and is aware that the Austria-Hungary empire will threaten Serbia's independence. This action not just killed the heir to the Austria-Hungarian throne, also triggered the start of the first World War.
Evidence 1: Freedom
Example (Long-term): People in the Balkan Peninsula are not amused to live in Austria-Hungary, and they wanted independence. By then some Balkan countries had already declared their independence and Serbia was one of them.
Imperialism (I)
Evidence 2: Economic competition
Example: Due to each country wanted to dominate more people, the most important thing is to gather enough resources so others could obey them. However, every European country lack some certain resources, the only way is to take it from other Europe countries. Which makes them weary and dislike each other.
Evidence 3: Territorial rivalry
Example (Long-term): During the years of European colonization. All the Europe countries want to protect their own properties such as land, resources, and people, while wanting to take more from the others. This made them always uncomfortable with each other, which developed into fear and anger.
Evidence 1: Colonisation
Example: During the 19th and early 20th century. European countries had colonized most of the world. However, the territories they colonized each have their own lack of certain resources. Which made none of them are satisfied by what they already got and becoming jealous of others.
