        Class activity: Students will watch a video about how long reptiles have lived on Earth for.
      - What reptiles are common in South Africa.
        
        Class activity: The class will make a collage using ripped up paper, and they will stick this on the outline of a Cape Skink lizard. The ripped up paper will be the same colour as the lizard.
        
        South Africa has over 350 species of reptiles (South Africa Online:n.d)
        
        The most common lizard in South Africa is the "Cape Skink". They can even be found in some people's gardens (Sterkfontein Country Estates:n.d)
- - - - The Sea Turtle has 2 sets of fins that they use to swim and to walk.
      - Class activity: The class will see a real shell of a sea turtle. This will help them understand how to protects the turtle, since the shell is very hard.
      - Unlike other reptiles, turtles live in a shell. This is called the exoskeleton, because it is outside of the body (Nature:2020).
    - - All reptiles have a vertebrae or a backbone. This protects the spinal cord. (National Geographic Kids:n.d)
      - Generally made up of the head, neck, trunk and the tail. (Inspirit:2023)
      - Class activity: The class will look as a real-life skeleton of a reptile. This will further their understanding on what the structure of a reptile looks like.
