How do we preserve nature. Planting new trees is important to humans and all life forms on earth(Rijsdijk & Marshak 2014)
How people are affected
Provide learners will a A5 book. Each day to go outside and observe the different what kind of weather they are experiencing on each day.
Learners will each be given 4 fruits such as an apple, banana, grapefruit and orange. The learners will need to predict what each fruit will taste like whether it be sweet, sour and bitter. Learners will have to record their finds by drawing a picture under each heading on the page provided.
The weather in spring
Have a discussion about the life cycle of a plant. Show learners pictures or illustrations on the different stages of a plant.
Learners will be given picture cards of a variety of flowers. Learners will be taken on a nature walk through the school garden to match the flowers we find in season.
Social Sciences
Autumn
Learners will be asked to bring at least 5 different color leaves from home. We will compare and match the leaves to a color chart placed around the classroom
During circle time in the morning allow the learners to identify the four seasons we experience. Discuses in details what happens during the season of Autumn
The reason why leaves changes colour in Autumn. How the climate has an effect on the leaves during autumn(S.S.Renner & C.M.Zohner 2019).
Take learners out on a nature walk around the school. Learners should rake up all the leaves. While that is done have a discussion on how the leaves changes color and why
Explore different fruit that are popular during the season of Autumn. Allow the learners to taste, touch, and smell each fruit

Winter
The weather in Winter
Water saving. Using a variety of methods such as posters, playing education card games and observations by school managers to bring awareness about water saving. Involving the learners is in the methods of saving water (Ripunda & Booysen,2019).
Learners identified a problem with water being wasted. We will design and make mini Jojo tanks to catch rainwater to use to water the plants in the class. A story called a trip to the tap will be read.
During cold or light rainy days. Encourage learners to bring long rain jackets, umbrellas and rain boots to school. Take a walk with them through the school grounds to experience what Winter is like. Have a discussion once back in the class
