      - Moral claims are imperatives rather than maxims. They're rational. What rational creatures do. Perfectly rational creatures are perfectly moral?
        
        Two kinds of imperatives
        
        Hypotetical Imperative
        
        Applies to you by virtue or your personal ends...
        
        If you want an A, you should study.
        
        Doesn't apply if you're not in school or don't want an A?
        
        Categorical Imperative
        
        Imperatives apply to you independently of subjective needs.
    - - Moral principles must be categorical imperatives
      - Kant thinks there is only 1 Categorical Imperative with a bunch of smaller ones. They being our moral duties
        
        WTF does this even mean?
        
        Some interpretations
        
        FUL - formula of Universal Law
        
        So, supreme principle of morality can't depend on our ends- that would make it a hypothetical imperative.
        
        So, if we can't see its ends, then what does it want? Our maxim's must be compatible with its essential nature.

        So... like Categorical Imperative must categorically obligate us to have maxims that can be universal laws.
        
        Summary: Act only in accordance with that maxim through which you can at the same time will that it becomes a universal law
        
        FLN (Formula of the Law of Nature)
        
        Act as if the maxim of your action were to become by your will a universal law of nature.
        
        FLN and our duties
        
        If the maxim can be a universal law of nature, then acting on it is morally permissible, otherwise not.
        
        Just like imagine if everyone did this. Would this lead to any contradictions?
