        Real-life applications to hospital visitation, visiting was discouraged before and after Robertson filmed a 2 year-old girl in her 8 day hospital trip, she was consistently distressed and begged to go home. therefore, visitation has changed so their work has led to a major social change.
        
        Bilfuco et al studied women who had experienced maternal deprivation from maternal death or temporary separation for more than a year and found that 25% later experienced a depression or anxiety disorder compared to the 15% who didn't have deprivation. Issues much greater in women who experienced before 6, which supports critical period.

        not all children affected in the same way, Barret found securely attached were likely to cope reasonably well compare to those who were insecurely attached. Individual differences affect intellectual and emotional effects of maternal deprivation.
