Lesson Plan
length of Lesson 5 days
Day 1:
To assess the students' counting abilities, I will engage them in counting exercises up to 50 or at least 20. This will help me determine their proficiency in counting.
-
As a class activity, I will assign small numbers (ranging from 1 to 10) for the students to practice adding and subtracting together.
To reinforce their learning, I will assign a paper for them to practice at home as homework.
Day 2:
We will focus on practicing more advanced numbers, specifically from 10 to 20, and encourage the students to add and subtract them as a class.
I will provide the students with Chromebooks to work online and further enhance their skills through interactive exercises.
Additionally, I will assign another worksheet for them to take home and practice independently.
Day 3:
I will introduce a different approach to adding and subtracting, such as using sentences to represent mathematical operations, and allow the students to solve these problems.
After practicing adding and subtracting in words, I will encourage the students to work in groups and support each other in solving mathematical problems.
As a reinforcement, I will assign an online homework task for them to complete.
Day 4:
To make learning more engaging, I will design an exercise that incorporates adding and subtracting into a real-life game scenario. For instance, I may play a video and ask math-related questions, turning it into a fun activity.
To summarize everything they have learned throughout the week, I will provide them with a final worksheet that covers all the topics.
Day 5:
On the final day, I will assess the students' understanding of adding and subtracting through a quiz. Additionally, I will ask them to write down numbers from 1 to 20 or 50, depending on their demonstrated counting abilities.
