Seperating Techniques
Another method is simple distillation. This is when you put a solution above head where it will then pass through a condenser to bring out pure water again.
Finally there is chromotograpy. This is used for soluble substances being sperated. For example drawing ink on paperwhich you insert on water and watch the ink sperate into differnt colours.
Filtration is the main way that you split solids and liquids such as sand and water. You use filter paper and drip the solution in and clean water should be the only thing coming through.

Equations
When balancing equations you cannot add little numbers to the back of the elemental symbol. You can only add only add big numbers in front.
Balancing equations is when you make sure the amount of elements is the same on the producer side and result side.
Ionisation
Ions are charged atoms by gaining or removing atoms. This process is called ionisation. The atoms always want to lose or gain the least amount of electrons so that it is an easy process.
Most metals form positive ions which mean they lost electrons in the process and non-metals form negative ions which means they gained electrons,
Atoms
Atoms are the particles of the elements. The elements are distinguished from each other by the number of protons that are in their nucleus.

The atomic mass is the proton mass plus the neutron mass. The atomic number is the mass of either electrons or protons.
