It was organised by London magistrate and author Henry Fielding in 1749.
Influenced Robert Peele who later brought about the Metropolitan Police.

Newgate Prison
Notorious for its appalling, cruel, overcrowding and unsanitary conditions.
It was located at the corner of Newgate street and Old Bailey street.
The prison was opened in 1769.
