Consequences of climate change globally.
Social consequences
Health
The effusion of greenhouse gases has led to the depletion of the ozone layer. - The ozone layer protects us from the harmful sun radiation. Therefore depletion of this layer leads to an increase in skin cancer. It could also lead to an increase in the number of people suffering from eye diseases such as cataracts.
Climate change has a direct impact on human health.
A warmer and more unstable climate would lead to higher levels of some air pollutants and increased transfer of diseases through unclean and contaminated food.
Flooding - creates a sustainable environment for disease-carrying insects, such as mosquitoes. This causes diseases such as malaria to return.
Rising sea levels
Flooding is a main consequence socially because as people get affected by this they can live in their homes so they have to go elsewhere this causes destruction
Water resources
Floods - Puts stress on water resources, biodiversity and natural habitats.
Threat to the water security and supply due to declining summer river flows, reduced groundwater replenishment and increased risk of drought.
Enviromental consequences
Ecosystem and Biodiversity
Maine life will be severely affected not only by an increase in sea temperature and changes in ocean circulation but also by ocean acidification as the concentration of carbon dioxide dissolved in the oceanic water will rise.
Climate change has the potential to create enormous biodiversity loss, affecting bother individual species and their ecosystems that support economic growth and human well-being.
Species from the tropics to the poles are at risk. Many species won't be able to survive the rising temperatures.
Rising sea level
Coastal erosion, extreme storms and floods can affect the environment around them and can even wipe out countries that re small and have thin land
Economic consequences
Rising sea level
This is affecting the UK by affecting people in coastal areas by extreme storms, flooding and coastal erosion. This would affect the economy by having to clear up and replace the ruined areas.
Transport systems
Extreme weather in some areas have affected transport and systems can work under conditions.
