- People have once mistaken that New Zealand is Australia's territory. But if you think that is true now, you will be unforgiven. For, New Zealand is now an official country, and they have needed a big vote for choosing their flag.
Discuss with your team: did the government go about it in the right way, and which of the designs would you have voted for? Were New Zealand’s concerns about its current flag valid? Are there other countries that have successfully changed their flags recently—and, if so, how?
The government got about it in the right way, for a country needs its flag. I would vote for the black-and-white-silver-fern, it looks very balanced.

For understanding reasons that the New Zealand’s flag is concerning. It looks very similar to the Australia’s flag (which embarrassingly leads to the flags are mistaken) and contains a part of the Union Jack (England, Scotland, and Ireland) because it’s one the territory of the “Great” Britain.
There are more countries that have also successfully changed their flags recently, like Fiji, Canada,… for maybe the change of leadership, or historical context.
