Succession
Lady Jane Grey. Daughter of Henry Grey, Earl of Suffolk. A Protestant whom Edward VI chose to succeed him, Lady Jane Grey had no genuine claim to the throne and was unpopular. Mary deposed her after 9 days
Edward VI. Smooth succession after Henry VIII's death. He was young so had little power and was largely controlled by Northumberland and Somerset. He died young - bad luck
Mary I. Mary was supposed to marry younger but Henry never committed her to marry. This meant that she never had an heir. This meant that Elizabeth inherited her throne
Elizabeth I. Henry also failed to secure Elizabeth a marriage in her youth. Furthermore, Elizabeth was reluctant to marry because she would lose some of her regal power and her allure as the "Virgin Queen"
