landforms
submarine volcanos which always stay active as the plates are moving towards each other rather than away.

highly volatile eruptions as the subducting crust is filled with many different organic compounds which lowers the melting rate. The gasses dissolve under the pressure and when released expel with lots of power.
constructive
oceanic
-
submarene volcanos created when erupting volcano doesnt make it to the surface, the lava is quickly cooled
-
the mid atlantic ridge rises 3km above the ocean floor between the S.American plate and the African plate. It is widening by 10cm/yr.
transform faults- the plates move in sections, there sections rub together at transform faults causing earthquakes.
continental

grabels are caused by the plate being heated and stretched which results in cracks appearing in the plate, creating low land valleys.
fold mountains are created when the plate scrunches together forming high lands. e.g. the Himalayas. Mt Everest is rising at 2.5 cm/yr.
conservtive. 2 plates moving side by side which snag on each other and build up pressure. When they release it causes a bit earthquake.
