"[Communities of women today must emulate their antagonist in order to exist at all. ... [l|maginatively recast, female communities typically achieve transcendence through their appropriation of male tactics in the quest for power (?)
"The autonomous and self-sustaining communities of nineteenth-century women, perforce cooperative because deprived of outside reality and power, lose focus and perfection with this acquisition of previously masculine territory" (5).
Women have to rely on community and cohesion in order to survive (shown in the short story too; teamwork) and that they dominate male territory (being astronauts in space). Results in them losing focus on ideas (they have to resort to using masculine tactics; destruction/violence like their male perps) which connects to the other evidence -->
Maybe representative of women being "wild" and men being "civilized"???
