What threats are the Latin America rain forests facing? How is deforestation affecting the global climate?

Central America
-
threats: the Guatemalan rainforest's trees are being cut down to be used for industrial purposes, and the land used as farmland.

The Bosowás rainforest
this forest is home to many animals and plants. It holds most of the flora and fauna in the entire country!
threats: One of the biggest threats to the forest are large infrastructure plans like the interoceanic canal. This canal is used to export goods like beef, vegetables and grains. Therefore, poor and middle class farmers have no choice but to cut down most of the forest and plant crops.
Impact: The Bosowás rainforest is one of the most polluting forests in Central America, with a deforestation rate of about 75%. The government is doing little to salvage what they have left, but the indigenous people of El Salvador have campaigned and advocated to save the forests. While the people of El Salvador are doing their part, the government must as well. Until they do something about this problem, climate change and global warming levels will increase.
Guatemalan rainforest
impact: these trees being cut down release more carbon dioxide into the air, which contributes greatly to global warming.
