        Question: Are the vegetables cooked enough?
        
        Affirmative: The best pasta is produced in Italy.
        
        Negative: The vegetables aren't cooked enough.
    - - Example: Our cakes are made every day.
  - - - Examples:
        
        Affirmative: The meeting was held in London.
        
        Questions: Who was the meeting held by?
        
        Negative: The awards were presented after by the director.
    - - When we want to talk about past events or processes.
        
        Example: The bakery was founded in 1871
      - When we don't know who is doing the action, or when it's not important.
        
        Example: An omelette is made with eggs.
      - When it is important to know who does an action in the passive, we use by.
        
        Example: The painting Guernica was painted by Pablo Picasso.
      - We can use a preposition to explain where or when something is done.
        
        Example: The Beatles' first album was recorded in London.
- - - - An active sentence has a subject and a verb. The subject is the person or thing that does the action of the verb.
        
        Example: Dolphins (subject) swim (verb).
      - Some active sentences have a subject, verb, and object. The object is the person or thing that is affected by the action.
        
        Example: Dolphins (subject) eat (verb) fish (object).
    - - A passive sentences is different: the subject of the verb is the person or thing that is affected by the action. The subject of a passive verb has the same meaning as the object of an active verb.
        
        Example: Fish (subject) are eaten (passive verb) by dolphins (object).
      - We often use the passive when we do not know who or what does the action of the verb.
        
        Example: Thousands of phones are stolen every day. (We don't know who steals them.)
      - We also use the passive when who or what does the action is not the focus of the sentence.
        
        Zoology and ecology are studied in the first year.(We're giving information about zoology and ecology, not about the students.)
