UNIT 7
Active and Pasive
Active
Active sentences have a subject and a verb. The subject is the person or thing that does the action of the verb.
Some active sentences have a subject, verb, and object.
The objects are the person or thing that is affected by the action.
Pasive
-
A passive sentence is different: the subject of the verb is the person or thing that is affected by the action. The subject of a passive verb has the same meaning as the object of an active verb
We also use the passive when who or what does the action is not the focus of the sentence. Zoology and ecology are studied in the first year.
