Hot spot enforcement and citizen participation- when officer's our working close in areas where crime is concentrated civilian participation can help garner trust in the community and help pervent crimes from happening or interfear with crime earlier
Dignity, and respect with Trustworthy motives- when officers show citizen respect during general interactions and the officer has trustworthy motive creates more trust in the community, allows for citizen to feel safer when speaking up about crime and help with officer's mental health as citizens will show the respect and trust to the officer that the said officer showed to them.
rehabilitation program such as drug classes anger management help to prevent crime and rehabilitate defendants
rehabilitation program and Prevention and problem-solving efforts- with program like drug rehabilitation while involving problem-solving efforts will help with crime control as people with histories of drug abuse and other mental health problems can get the help they need and keep them from recidivating. While with problem-solving efforts will prevent crime before in a community or town before a 911 call is needed.
-
lack of witnesses and informants and general public mistrust in police- Gerneral mistrust in police can make the officer's job harder as people are unwilling to cooperate with the officer while also causing people to become unwilling to be witnesses or informant as they don't trust the police are making the right arrest. People in a community don't want to help the police as they fear what other in their community might think and cause people to not want to be informants as they don't trust the officers will protect them.
media mistrust in police and Police misconduct- this pair leads to negative effects because when the media is already not fond of the police and are looking for any reason to put an officer on the news when police misconduct happen it will be reported on which is a good thing but when there are officer that are not breaking the rule now their reputation is ruined for what other officers are doing. this cause mistrust from citizen and a unwillingness to help and cooperate in police investigations
excessive force and unconstitutional searches- This pairing causes even more mistrust and hatred towards the police.as when the police are doing illegal searches and abusing their power causes citizen to not want to be seen associated and cause hatred as men and women in their community are being wrongfully arrested, while having their right violated. With excessive force the average citizen now may fear even Bening near an officer and if citizen is sacred of the people that are supposed to protect them officer will find completing their duty will be much more difficult
