digestive system, urinary system - Coggle Diagram
digestive system
-
digestive enzymes:
- Amylase:(mouth and pancreas) - break down complex carbohydrates = glucose
- Lipase:(pancreas) break down lipids = glycerol
- Protease:(pancreas) break down proteins = amino acids
-
- Nucleases:(Small intestine) -break down nucleic acids = nucleotides
-
-
Function: break down food into nutrients in order to be absorbed for energy while removing non digested waste
-
urinary system
organs:
-
-
nephron:
-
- glomerulus capsule: assist glomerulus filter
- proximal convoluted tubule: reabsorb nutrients from filtrate
- descending limb: reabsorbs water from filtrate
- nephron loop: reabsorb water and sodium chloride from filtrate
- ascending limb: reabsorb potassium
- distal convoluted tubule: regulate extracellular fluid vol/ electrolyte homeostasis
- collecting duct: collects urine
-
Function: filter salt and waste from the body's blood and control rbc production and bp while maintaining normal levels of water, electrolytes and the ph in body fluid vol.
