BASIC ELECTRICITY
ELECTRIC CIRCUITS
-
-
LOAD DEVICES: components that receive electrical energy from the power sources and convert it to other types of useful energy.
CONDUCTORS: components that transport the electrical energy from the power sources to the load devices
ELECTRIC CIRCUITS: a series of interconnected components that an electric current goes through them.
COMPONENTS OF A CIRCUIT:
-
LOAD DEVICES: lamp, motor, buzzer and resistor
-
CONTROL DEVICES: one-way switch, push switch, two-way switch
-
ELECTRICAL ENERGY
-
ELECTRICITY: is a form of energy that lets negatively charged particles ( electrons ) move from one atom to another
ELECTRICAL ENERGY: is the most common energy because its easy to obtain, to transport and to transform.
REPRESENTING CIRCUITS
ELECTRICAL SCHEMATICS: the grafic representation of a electric circuit. Every component in a circuit has a standardised symbol to represented in a simple way that anybody can understand
EXAMPLES OF REPRESENTATIONS OF CIRCUITS:
- simple circuit with one-wayswitch and lamp
- simple circuit with one-way switch and buzzer
EXAMPLES OF CIRCUITS WITH DIFFERENT COMPONENT:
- difference between NO and NC push swiches
- circuit with two-way switch
- circuit with multiple load devices
- circuit with multiple control devices
