Classifying
Categorising objects or animals according to certain qualities. For example, squamata (lizards and snakes), testudines (turtles and tortoises) , crocodilia (crocodiles, aligators)
Measuring
Using instruments such as rulers or tape measures to see how long or short different reptiles are in centimeters (cm) or meters (m)
Comparing
Showing similarities between two or more things. For example, their bodies are covered in scales, their skin is hard and dry looking, most lay eggs and are cold-blooded.
Experimenting
Investigations can be done to determine specific needs, behaviours, habitats and diets for various reptiles.
Observing
Ability to use senses to gather information about objects. For example, hearing the sounds that a crocodile makes, feeling the scales it's covered in.
Communicating
Findings of the above can be recorded in graphs, drawings or diagrams.
