They attacked France thinking that the Soviet union would take longer to mobilize their forces. They then took over France so they could focus their attention on the Soviet Union. By declaring war on the Soviet union they lost the war. !
"Blitzkrieg" tactic was the most famous tactic used by the Germans. This tactic meant that they attack with mostly offensive weapons. They would attack carrying minimum supplies and pick up the resources they get along the way. The word "Blitzkrieg" means lighting war. This tactic was based around speed and agility.
Adolf Hitler
Adolf Hitler was the chancellor of Germany. He was the mastermind behind the Holocaust and their goal to take over the world. Adolf Hitler was planning on taking over Europe first then expanding into Russia. He never got that far though. He was stopped by bad weather and a strong resistance by the Soviets.

Germany was open to receiving soldiers from their allies but was not open to taking in civilians from other countries. This caused the Holocausts because he blamed the Jews for their loss of WW2.This caused them to persecute the Jews.
Italy and Japan where the two countries in alliance with Germany. Italy and Germany where known for dominating Europe and Japan was known for dominating eastern Asia. These countries alliance was the called the Axis.
One of Germany's biggest loses was in the battle of Stalingrad. This took place in southern Russia. Germany was trying to get an advantage on the Soviet union. Due to a harsh winter Germany was forced to retreat, also huge casualties on both sides.This took Germanys best troops.
A battle that turned the tides of the war was operation Barbarossa. Germany attacked the Soviet union. This caused Germany to have to worry about an attack on another front. This one mistake lost Germany the war.
Propaganda was used for many different purposes. They where used to help recruit soldiers and also to make the community think one thing or the other. Germany's favorite thing to use was to guilt trip people into joining the army.
Germany's civilians were informed about the thousands of concentration camps and the gs chambers. But the civilians did not take any form of action because they feared the danger and they just didn't care all that much.
Germany started the war initially. They said that they needed more living room so they expanded the border. But they then got aggressive and attacked Poland to start WW2. They where very strong at the beginning of the war but became weak and stretched towards the end.
Before the war Germany was very mistreated compared to the rest of the world. This then made Germany very mad resulting in Germany attacking. Germany was known for its strong air force and aggressive tactics.
Germany made people fear countries and make people segregate others because of their heritage. This made a huge impact on how people looked at each other and how people lived their daily lives. This also tore apart family's
Germany brought immeasurable suffering to Europe and many civilians. It's estimated that two thirds of people killed in WW2 where civilians. Germany brought destruction.
Germany was destroyed and their government was broken apart. After the war Germany was split into separate sections so they couldn't rebuild their empire. The three sections where USA, Britain, and France.
It took about 20 years for Germany to build back their country. They had to restart their government and also had to rebuild their cities. But now Germany's doing better.
