The
lesson is structured
in:
Introduction song.
Warm up (presenting themselves and touch something game).
Presentation (What's your favourite colour, crocodile? ; flashcard skip ; walk like a...).
Reading time.
Activity 1 (spinning and finding the flashcard).
Activity 2 (colour a worksheet about animals).
Goodbye song.
Classroom management:
group activities first, sitting side by side in another part of the room, mostly move and dance around instead of just sitting, individual work at the end.
Teaching strategies:
provide examples, short explanations, repetition, helping only if necessary during individual work, guiding students when they are trying to express an idea, clapping and using sounds and rhythm to make interactions enjoyable.
Materials:
songs, flashcards, games, worksheets.
The learning environment "CLASSROOM"
a medium sized class, with plenty of space to work and to play/move around; it didn’t have too many colours. Also, there aren´t any posters or pictures on the walls.
The learners’ reactions:
they liked the games, they always participated in every activity, but weren’t as attentive during reading time.
Student’s interaction:
they talked with each other, but behaved well; they were active and attentive but sometimes they played with each other; one student had to leave the class for some time, but he quickly came back.
Student’s use of language:
they talked to each other in their own mother tongue, but tried using English when answering questions.
Teacher’s use of language:
use of body language, facial expressions, gestures with his hands, exaggerated tone/friendly, always speaks in English.

singing, dancing, playing games, clapping games,
