Origin and history.
Ancient Vietnamese architecture has many mysteries, including Cham Towers architecture.
Cham Towers (also known as Champa Tower), is a type of temple and tower architecture
The ancient Cham kingdom was ruled by two lineages
A clan in the Northern Territory including Indrapura (now the land of the provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue), Amaravati (Quang Nam, Da Nang, Quang Ngai), and Vijaya (Binh Dinh, Phu Yen).
Characteristics of Cham Towers.
. It was not until the 7th century that people switched to building with durable materials such as bricks and stones, similar to temples in South India.
Cham Towers (made of bricks) were built from the late 7th century to the early 17th century.
Currently, there still exist over twenty clusters of architectural relics of temples, towers, and many architectural ruins.
Cham Towers is one of the unique architectural works of the Cham ethnic group in Vietnam.
Famous towers in Cham Towers
Banh It Tower (also known as Silver Tower) is located in Phuoc Hiep commune, Tuy Phuoc district.
Khanh Hoa: Ponagar Tower is located on Cu Lao hill, about 20m high (above sea level) in Vinh Phuoc ward, about 2km north of Nha Trang city center.
Nhan Tower is located on Nhan Mountain in Tuy Hoa city, Phu Yen province.
My Son Sanctuary is located in Duy Phu commune, Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province, about 69 km from Da Nang city.
