ELECTRICITY Carlos Sanabria y Nilda Rodríguez
The electricity is a form of energy taht lets negatively charged particles (electrons) move from one atom to another.
Electrical energy is the most common form of energy and it can be transformed into light, heat, sound and motion.
Static electricity is a phenomenon caused by acumulation of charge in materials and this is caused when materials are composed of atoms with a neutral charge, but this balance can be altered when the material is rubbed.
Electric current is the flow of electrons from one atom to another inside a conductive material.
Conductor: material that lets electric current flow throght it.
Insulator:Material that does not let electric
current flow throug it.
An electric circuit is a series of interconnected components that an electric current flows through to produce an efect.
Control device: regulate the circuit. Examples: one-way switches, push switches and two-way switches.
Conductores: transport the electrical energy. Examples: wires
Load device: receive the electrical energy. Examples: motors, lamps, buzzers and resistors.
Power sources: supply the necesary electrical energy. Examples: cells and batteries
CIRCUITS (Electrical scematic)
Each part of the circuit have a standarised symbol
Difference between NO and NC push switches: Push switches have a stable point, they change status as long as we press them. When we releas them it goes to his rest position. They can be normally open(NO) or normally closed(NC).
Circuit with two-way switch have two positions.
Circuit with multiple load devices
Circuit with multiple control devices
Open circuits, closed circuits. Short circuits.
Open circuits: When the energy cannot flow, because the switch is open or there is a fault in the circuit.
Closed circuits:When the electric current flows.
Short circuits: Is an electric current, that occurs when the electric current is transported by the wires without passing through a load device.
