1492- Conquest of the last remaining Muslim kingdom in Spain- Nasrid Granada. The Nasrid Muslims living under Christian rule became Mudéjares, the term long used for Muslims living under Christian rule in other parts of the Iberian Peninsula

Andres Navagero – describes Granada as unfinished projects – Moorish arquitecture holted and changed to Christian. “the country was much more beautiful in the time that it was in the hands of the Moors than it is now. Now there are many houses in ruin and gardens gone to ruin, which under the Moors were maintained so that they grew.”
“From so many ruins of delightful palaces, one can judge that those Moorish kings did not neglect anything that contributed to a pleasant and contented life.”
1570- Moriscos are expelled from GranadaSecond rebellion. 1578 all Muslims were expelled from Granada
´ 1599- Grace period to convert, attempt by the King to not be that extreme
Cardinal Francisco Jiménez de Cisneros arrived 1501 and took it as his mission to convert everyone to being Christian – projects of forced conversions through bribes and collective baptisms.
