My Year 12 Jacket
Aspects specific to me
-
Learning Journey: I was able to develop my own style of learning as I had to adapt to online learning and I would wear my year 12 jacket while working at home to trick my brain into thinking I was at school to push myself further.
Teachers: The only teachers I connected with was my music and performance teacher as it was a pratical class so I was able to go in to school every so often to work on my performance exam songs.
Peers: My peers were important as we all shared then joy of having a year 12 jacket, we were all conneted by that jacket and always will be.
Activity/Sport/Subject: The activity/subject I most relate to my year 12 jacket is that music and performance as it was a creative outlet for me and that was emphasised when wearing my jacket.
Learner Identity
Type of Learner: I would say I am a Kinesthetic learner. a Kinesthetic learner is individuals who prefer to learn by doing. They enjoy a hands-on experience.
Family and Friends Impact: My family and friends were able to help me as a kinaesthetic learner as they would present me with tasks that require a hands on approach which would be why I excelled in my practical classes like music and food studies.
AITSL Standard 1
1.1 Physical, social and intellectual development and characteristics of students: This standard is the most relative to my artefact as I built a character from. wearing my jacket, it made me feel empowered and confident almost as if I could be able to accomplish anything I put my mind too.
Learner Theories
Condition: When using operant conditioning in your classroom, it is important to understand the differences between positive reinforcement and punishment. Positive reinforcement is used to increase the likelihood of a desirable behavior.
Constructctivism: As people experience the world and reflect upon those experiences, they build their own representations and incorporate new information into their pre-existing knowledge
Memory: Human memory is divided into long-term memory and working memory; Processing of new knowledge leads to 'cognitive load' on working memory which may influence learning outcomes; and. Content knowledge is stored in the form of schemas in long-term memory.
Significant Events
Challenges: My challenges were doing Year 12 in lockdown and having to do online learning and SAC's online.
-
Success/Achievement: I received a high study score for music, showing that I work best hands on rather than reading and writing answers.
Challenges: I am a student that doesn't test well and I struggle in exams and SAC's unless it is a practical test. I struggled a lot during year 12 exams.
