Past Tense
The Past Tense It serves to express events or states that happened in the distant or near past. Furthermore, although we have already said that the period in which it takes place is not significant, it must be stated that said situation or action has ended.
The duration is not relevant. The time in which the action takes place can be the recent past or the distant past.
It was used to express that something ended or was completed, and that the period of time in which it occurred has also ended.
The rule for learning the past simple is the following: add -ed to the base or infinitive form of the verb, (or -d if the root form already ends in e). The infinitive or base form of the verb is how the verb appears in the dictionary, for example, walk.
