Wilson's Plan for Peace
President Wilson came up with the Fourteen Points to outline long-lasting peace
1-4: no secret treaties, sea freedom, reduced national armies and navies
5: adjustment of colonial claims with fairness toward colonial peoples
6-13: self-determination points of changing borders and creating new nations
14: "general association of nations" - essentially offered protections for any countries
Wilson hoped for organization that could peacefully negotiate solutions to world conflicts
Drawn up by big four: Wilson of US, Clemenceau of France, Lloyd George of Britain, and Orlando of Italy
