Plants and trees
Evergreen trees are trees which keep their leaves throughout the year and they stay green.
Deciduous trees are seasonal trees. The leaves will change and fall off in Autumn and Winter. Then, they will bloom again in Spring and be a full tree again in Summer.
Wild plants are plants which grow from nature like the wind or insects.
Garden plants are planted by somebody and they are taken care of.
Parts of a plant
Roots are one part of the plant. The roots take water and nutrients from the soil to give to the plant.
Stem is another part of the plant. The stem will transport water and it keeps the flower upright.
Leaves are another part of the plant. The leaves take sunlight as food for the plant.
Flower is another part of the plant. It will attract insects such as bees so they can move pollen.
Parts of a tree
Crown: It is the top of the tree and the leaves want to take as much sunlight as they can.
The trunk is surrounded by bark to protect the tree.
Branches grow off of the trunk.
Trees will have leaves too.
Roots of a tree can be seen and it will absorb as many nutrients as they can.
What do plants need in order to grow?
Sunlight, water and soil.
Carbon dioxide.
If a plant doesn't get what it needs, it will die.
We learnt that if plants don't have sunlight and water, they can still grow.

Leafy vegetable
Cabbage, lettuce
Stem vegetable
Asparagus
