Motavation Theories

Goal Setting Theory
People will be motivated when tasked with specific & challenging goals, while also receiving feedback. this shows their progress towards goal achievement.
Basic componenents

Performance feedback: Using feedback on the quality of past performance to examine progress toward the accomplishment of the goal

Expectancy Throey
A motivation theory that high efforts will lead to good performance and good performance will lead to rewards.
Reenforcment Theory
Behaviors followed by positive consequences will happen more frequently. Behaviors followed by Negative consequences will happen less frequently.

Negative reinforcement - strengthens behavior by avoiding unpleasant consequences when employees preform specific behaviors
ex: employees start with $100, each time they preform a task nothing will change but when they do not preform the task $5 will get taken away from their start pay.
