different types of goals
preformance goals - relate to focusing on your own preformance instead of the outcome , how well you played
Outcome goals - relate to the outcome f the game or match , being that you have to win

SMART goals -

Achievable - making sure that the goal can be reached, not setting it to high were you end up quitting - example being a sprinter trying to shave 0.2 seconds off his time insted of a whole 2 seconds
Specific - relates to making sure that the goal is specific to what you want to achieve for example a golfer struggling to complete easy puts therefore working on short range putts
realistic - making sure that you are not going over the top,and the factors within the goal are realistic to yourself and your ability
Time bound - making sure that the goal is are reachable in the time given ,and changing the amount depending on the goal (short , medium, long term goals ) for example getting under 100 in one round of golf in 6 months as a high 20s handicap
increase motibvation as every factor will be perfect therefore making it a good and correct goal to reach
mastery - relates to tryingto preform beter each preformance , looking to get better than the last game or score higher
Preformance profiling
a way to pin point both strengths and weaknesses of athletes to then design training plans based of that to improve as a whole player
it will improve motivation as when ranking yourself out of 10,will make you want to be a perfect player - 10/10
Provides direction as it is easy to stop weaknesses as well as it being easy to track over a period of time to show improvement
Example being a striker ranking the different types of his shots to then work on it to be able to score more goals
imagery
people use imagery to help preform certain skills,control stress as well as show excitment, they use it to increase self confidence.
internal - relates to seeing the technique from your own eyes, with the smae factors of touch, visioning the skill as well as smell,helping with preforming the skills as you then know the correct technique
external - relates to the athlete seeing the thecnique from a 3rd person ( from another erosnas eyes) . it involves certain factors such as feeling and seeing the technique happening.

PMR
PMR relates to moving down the body tnesing certain parts of the body such s the quads and then hamstrings , as well as controlling breathing, wich will relax the body and make the athlete feel very relaxed

self talk
valence refers to the emotional tone to peoples self talk - positive , negative and neutral
self talk is the way a athlete will talk to imself in terms of his preformnace which can go both positivley or negativley
positive, looking to bounce back from a mistake ,or not to give up - negative being that he doubts himself
2/1 breathing ratio
the exhaliation being x2 the length of the inhalation as it is a great way to eliminate anxiety as well as stay confidnet , focused and mentally tough
