The Socratic Questioning technique

Tips for Using the Technique

Types of Socratic Questions
Clarification Questions:
"Can you explain that further?"
"What do you mean by...?"
Probing Assumptions:
"Why do you think that is true?"
"What led you to that conclusion?"
Exploring Evidence and Reasoning:
"What evidence supports your viewpoint?"
"How did you come to this conclusion?"
Considering Alternative Perspectives:
"How might someone else interpret this?"
"What are some other ways to look at this?"
