What is a community
- A community consists of different populations of organisms living together and interacting in a single habitat
- The populations in a community are interdependent as they live together and depend on one another for survival.
What is an organism
- An organism is a living thing
- E.g. dog, earthworm, plant, mushroom, bacturium
What is an population
- A population consists of all the organisms of the same kind that live and reproduce in a particular place.
What is a habitat
- a habitat is a place where a population of organisms live
- This is the place the organisms find everything they need such as food, water, air, space and shelter to live and reproduce.
- Ponds, forests, a rotting log and heap of leaves are examples of habitats.
What is an environment
- Organisms are affected by conditions in their surroundings.
